What can I expect from taking part in the Firework Training?
The Firework Career Coach Training provides a practical, experience-based framework for guiding clients through meaningful career transitions. If you’re considering becoming a licensed Firework Career Coach, here’s what you can expect from the training.
1. “Why Firework?”
The Firework Training is designed to enable you to be more confident, credible and effective coaching clients through career transition.
Built from over 20 years of real-world coaching experience, the framework uniquely combines reflective learning, design thinking, experiential techniques, entrepreneurship principles, and mindset-focused activities to help your clients find clarity and take action on their career change.
2. “What happens and when?”
Firework is a six-month online training structured into two key phases: the core training and six months of support to embed the framework into your practice.
The core training takes place over three half-day live online sessions, covering the three-phase methodology: Explore, Dream, and Discover.
These core sessions involve interactive group discussion, real-time practice using the tools across the full framework, and expert guidance from your lead trainers.
This dynamic environment means you’ll learn how to use the tools fast – building your confidence and allowing you to start using them with real clients from day one.
All the training sessions are online and interactive. You’ll have the opportunity to learn, reflect, question and discuss. You won’t just hear about the tools, you’ll also experience those from the Dream and Discover phases firsthand.
The core training sessions run from 1:00 pm to 5:15 pm UK time (3.00 pm - 7.15 pm CET / 9.00 am - 1.15 pm EST) on all three days and (you can find the dates of our next training here) and require your full, live attendance to qualify for your Firework licence.
In the six months following these three core training sessions, you'll engage in a series of five expert sessions and mentoring calls designed to deepen your skills, boost your confidence, and integrate the methodology fully into your practice.
You're encouraged to immediately start practicing with clients (paid or pro bono), to build your confidence, see a fast return on investment, and master the tools as well as helping you get maximum value from the subsequent group mentoring calls.

3. “What materials will I get and how can I access them?”
Once you’ve registered for the Training, you’ll gain access to the Firework Hub – our user-friendly online platform housing all the coaching exercises for clients and your coach guidance notes.
At this point, we encourage you to watch the introductory videos featuring experienced Firework coaches sharing their top tips to help you get the most out of your training experience.

Then, four to six weeks before the first training session, the Introduction and Explore phases will be “unlocked” for you to complete your pre-course work.
The materials for the Dream and Discover phases will be available for you immediately after your first core training session, helping to pace your learning and prevent overwhelm.
All the client exercises are downloadable, white-labelled, and can be easily customised with your company name and/or logo.
4. “Who will I meet?”
Your lead trainers for the initial three core training sessions will be Michelle Bayley, Sarah Dawrant and Anna Levy.
All three are seasoned Firework coaches, have more than 50 years of coaching experience combined, and know the Firework framework inside out.
Soon after your core training, you’ll have an expert session with Career Strategist John Lees, and Richard Alderson, Founder of Careershifters and Director of Firework will be guiding you on your Marketing sessions.
Your training cohort will include 15–20 coaches from all over the world and all walks of coaching. You'll be encouraged to form your own peer-support crew, so you can discuss ideas and challenges, coach each other, and stay connected long after the training ends.

5. “What’s expected of me?”
We’ll be asking you to do some preparation ahead of the course and then work with one or more practice clients during the six months of the course.
Before the core training sessions, you’ll need to spend 3-5 hours to familiarise yourself with the Explore phase of the framework. You’ll find detailed guidance on using each of the Explore exercises with your clients, so we won’t cover these in depth during training.
Completing this prep work ensures you're well-prepared for the discussion on Day 1 of the training, allowing us to focus our time on demonstrating the Dream and Discover phases and exploring the unique tools of the Firework methodology.
After the core training, you’re strongly encouraged to work with at least one practice client and take them through the Firework framework. This is where things really start to click.
While there are no formal assessments, your commitment to active participation and practical application is key to embed your learning and getting the most benefit from your investment.
6. “What will I receive after the three core training sessions?”
When you finish the three core training sessions, you'll receive:
- A lifelong licence to use the Firework framework
